How A Recycling Center In Ct Benefits Its Community

byAlma Abell

Recycling facilities are popping up in more communities across the U.S. as residents realize how many valuable services they provide. Experts such as Calamari Recycling Co Inc control construction and demolition debris, offer cleanup solutions, and provide responsible waste solutions. When communities partner with a Recycling Center CT professionals help them conserve land, reduce pollution, and save raw materials.

Recycling Creates Efficient Construction

When contractors work with a Recycling Center CT projects stay on schedule and are kept clear of hazardous debris. Builders and demolition experts typically arrange to have recycling professionals deliver roll off containers to work sites. The huge bins, which usually range in size from 10 to 40 yards, are filled and emptied as work progresses. The waste that they contain is forwarded to a processing area, where it is sorted and recyclable materials are reclaimed.

Recycling Companies Work With Customers

Recycling plants also provide containers for residential projects and clients can collect and drop off their own debris. Recycling plants typically accept rocks, windows, mirrors, decorative metal, lead, and plastic. They also recycle lumber, ceramics, porcelain fixtures, decking, and more. Customers can collect and get paid for aluminum, copper, steel, carbide, lead, brass, and more. Their facilities include weather-protected drop-off areas where clients can drive in and unload debris.

Recycling Experts Manage Business Waste

Modern businesses rely on recycling experts for waste solutions. When companies contact a Recycling Center CT professionals work with them to find responsible ways to dispose of unwanted electronics, office furniture, hospital equipment, restaurant fixtures, and more. Many recycling professionals also set up recycling programs for municipalities, apartments, and businesses. Recycling professionals also offer industrial clean up services which are a bargain, since clients are paid for many of the materials that are collected.

Recycling Businesses Help Save the Earth

Communities that include recycling centers keep tons of debris out of local landfills, which frees up acres of land for other uses. They conserve raw materials when recyclables are sent on to be used in the manufacture of products. Recycling saves millions of gallons of oil each year and plays a big part in reducing industrial smoke and other pollution.

Community recycling centers keep local construction and demolition sites safe and efficient, help residents and businesses dispose of waste responsibly, and generate income. They also conserve local land, reduce pollution, and save natural resources. Visit website for more information.

NASA cancels launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour

Saturday, June 13, 2009

NASA has canceled today’s early morning launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour because of a hydrogen fuel leak. The leak was discovered after NASA personnel began to fill Endeavour’s external fuel tank.

“The official scrub time was 12:26 a.m. EDT. Launch teams began draining Endeavour’s external fuel tank of its liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen at 12:06 a.m.. Fueling was halted after the leak was detected near the Ground Umbilical Carrier Plate, or GUCP, which attached to the external tank at its intertank area,” said NASA in a statement on their website.

Launch for mission STS-127 was scheduled for 7:17 a.m. (EDT) on Saturday from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. If NASA fixes the problem in a reasonable period, the next window of opportunity for launch would be at 6:51 a.m Sunday morning. If the problem cannot be solved by then, NASA says the earliest they would be able to re-schedule Endeavor’s lift off would be June 17. This would conflict with the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)/Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) launch. Space Shuttle Discovery will be on standby in case of emergencies and STS-128 could be readied to launch by August 6.

A similar problem in March forced NASA to push back the launch of Space Shuttle Discovery for mission STS-119. The problem was fixed and Discovery was able to take off.

Mission STS-127 is the 32nd flight dedicated to the International Space Station construction, and the final of a series of three flights dedicated to the assembly of the Japanese Kibo laboratory complex. The STS-127 payload is the Kibo Japanese Experiment Module Exposed Facility and Experiment Logistics Module Exposed Section. The mission is scheduled to last sixteen days.

This trip marks the first time that thirteen people will be on the ISS at the same time. Canada will see two astronauts in space simultaneously, also a first for the nation. Crew members listed to be part of the mission are Commander Mark Polansky, Pilot Doug Hurley, astronauts Wolf, Christopher Cassidy, Canadian Space Agency’s mission specialist Julie Payette, and mission specialists Tom Marshburn and Tim Kopra.

Teflon Coating: Pros of Teflon Coating on Cars

by

Neel patel

Teflon coating is also known as Antirust Coating. Teflon coating is done on the body and under-body of the car. It is a chemical form of the Synthetic fluoropolymer. It is non-sticky as well as reduces the friction on the material and provides clear and strong protective finish to cars paint.

Teflon coating increases the ability of the surface to which it is applied. It helps to prevent the surface against the corrosion as well as wear and tear problem in the High & Low temperature. It keeps dirt away from the surface and helps to repel the water. Teflon coating is also done on a clear and sunny day like Ceramic coating.

Car detailing process should be done at the idle location like your Parking or a place where you can park your car under the roof and protect the car from direct sunlight. UV rays are harmful to the cars paint. Rinse off dirt from the cars surface with the help of water hose. You can use car wash shampoo and microfiber pads for scrubbing to get better and cleaned surface. Wash the car completely including the wheels and rims. Once the car washing is done dry the car with the help of Microfiber cleaning cloth so that water drops cant leave on the surface.

Now the surface is dried completely and you can finally start the coating process. The very first step is that shake the spray properly

Shake it properly to mix the Teflon solution before using. And after that spray it onto the paint with steady back and forth streams. Continue spraying until the entire painted surface of the car is coated with a thin film which needs to dry without disturbance. Thats why experts suggest not to work on a rainy day or under a tree.

The coating dry time will depend on the brand of Teflon coating you are using. But a few hours should do. Use a clean rag to rub off the Teflon wax. This wiping just takes off the excess. The Teflon coating that has adhered to the paint job will not come off with a light rub.

Teflon Process on vehicle

-Car Surface is Washed and after that Cleaned Completely.

-Then the full body is wiped and dried completely with the help of microfiber cleaning cloth.

-Once the full surface of the car is washed and the cleaned car is ready for Teflon coating which will be applied in lubricate form on the entire body.

-leave the surface for drying. It will take 15-20 minutes to dry. After that, the polishing will be done on the surface of the car.

-polishing can be applied in two ways: machine and hand. Experts use Rupes Bigfoot car polishing machine for the best result.

-Polishing process will take around 30 minutes for buffing. If it is done correctly it will remove scratches too.

Benefits of Teflon Coating

Car Paint will begin to shine after Teflon and even minor scratches will also be removed. Effect of the Teflon coating last shorter, around 2 months and after that it will continue to come down.

It provides a layer to prevent minor scratches and it acts as Paint Protection.

It adds a Glossy look to a car so apply Teflon coating periodically for best results.

It improves the paint life of your car if done regularly.

Tensions continue to rise in Middle East over “Mohammad Cartoons”

Friday, February 3, 2006

The publishing of a series of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad in a Copenhagen newspaper sparked a string of harsh and in some places violent reactions in the Middle East, forcing European leaders to try to calm the situation.

This backlash started in late September 2005, when the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published a dozen cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad. The images ranged from serious to comical in nature; a particularly controversial cartoon portrays Mohammad with a bomb wrapped in his turban. The Jutland-based newspaper states that the images were meant to inspire some level of public debate over the image of Islam in Europe, and had no direct aim of offending anyone.

However, many Muslims follow the doctrine of aniconism concerning the portrayal of Mohammad. This tenet of Islam states that the Prophet Mohammad should not be depicted in any type of art, regardless of the intent of the piece. This belief, along with the potentially insensitive nature of some of the caricatures, have caused offense to many Muslims in the Arab world.

In the past month, the controversy over these cartoons escalated. The cartoons were re-published last month in Spain, Italy, Germany, France and the Netherlands (where the latter two nations have large Muslim populations), and have begun to re-circulate throughout the Middle East.

Many Danish companies have been targeted for boycotts. As Wikinews reported last week, Arla Foods, Denmark’s top dairy company, has seen their sales fall to zero in some Middle East nations. Carrefour, a French retail chain, has pulled all Danish products from its shelves in the region. Earlier this week, protests were held throughout the region, including the Gaza Strip in Jerusalem, where Hamas supporters led an assault and protest that surrounded the European Union offices for Israel.

Hamas members, some armed with guns, stormed the EU office (which is primarily staffed by Arabs) and demanded apologies from EU member states, saying they would otherwise face serious consequences. “It will be a suitable reaction, and it won’t be predictable,” said Abu Hafss, a member of the Al Quds Brigade (an affiliate of the group Islamic Jihad), in a press conference outside the EU offices. And the Abu al-Reesh Brigades, a group related to the late Yassir Arafat’s Fatah party, warned that EU member states had 10 hours to apologize for the cartoons or their citizens would be “in danger”.

Jamila Al Shanty, a newly elected Hamas legislator, stated that more rallies will be planned in protest of the cartoons. “We are angry – very, very, very angry,” Al Shanty said today, adding that “No one can say a bad word about our prophet.”

The Iranian newspaper Hamshari daily has stated that on February 8 it will publish anti-semitic cartoons in response to the Danish cartoons, apparently failing to notice that Denmark has only a tiny Jewish population, since most escaped to Sweden during the World War II Holocaust. The newspaper says that the cartoons will lampoon the Holocaust despite denials by the Iranian government that the Holocaust even happened.

Jyllands-Posten, the newspaper that first published the cartoons did issue an apology to Arab countries on Monday, shortly after the EU office incident. But with the support of the government of Denmark, the newspaper had earlier defended its actions fiercely, citing the universal right to free press, and its duty to serve democratic traditions by inspiring debate. Indeed, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark, said “We are talking about an issue with fundamental significance to how democracies work.” In fact, some European pundits have placed more fault on Muslims for refusing to “accept Western standards of free speech and pluralism”. When the cartoons were originally published in 2005 they were intended to highlight and redress the unequal restrictions applied to Islamic content in European newspapers in comparison with content referring to other religions. The cartoons are also self-referential, with one character in the cartoons writing in Arabic on a blackboard “Jyllands-Posten’s journalists are a bunch of reactionary provocateurs”, and another cartoon showing a cartoonist having to work in hiding because one of the cartoons he is drawing includes an image of the Prophet Mohammad. The text around the cartoons stated:

“The modern, secular society is rejected by some Muslims. They demand a special position, insisting on special consideration of their own religious feelings. It is incompatible with contemporary democracy and freedom of speech, where you must be ready to put up with insults, mockery and ridicule. It is certainly not always equally attractive and nice to look at, and it does not mean that religious feelings should be made fun of at any price, but that is less important in this context. […] we are on our way to a slippery slope where no-one can tell how the self-censorship will end. That is why Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten has invited members of the Danish editorial cartoonists union to draw Muhammad as they see him. […]”

However, some world leaders have elected to help defuse what could be a major social crisis in Europe and the Middle East. France’s foreign minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said that freedom of the press should be exercised “in the spirit of tolerance”, sentiments which were echoed by United Nations General Secretary Kofi Annan. Ursula Plassnik, foreign minister of Austria, said that the European community must “clearly condemn” acts which insult religion. And Hamid Karzai, president of Afghanistan, warned Europe that “any insult to the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is an insult to more than one billion Muslims and an act like this must never be allowed to be repeated.”

Rasmussen, in an interview with Arabic TV Al arabia, said that “…Danish government condemns any expression and any action which offends people’s religious feelings…” and also said that he does not understand why, as the cartoons were originally published in September, the situation has only truly started to deteriorate in the past week.

In Denmark, there are counter-demonstrations by moderate Muslims saying they don’t want the images banned. Munira Mirza commented that many Muslims “want to be able to say: ‘Hey we’re not children, we can handle criticism, we don’t need special protection – we’re equal’. Many don’t want to be treated as a special group, seen as worthy of more protection from criticism than other groups because of their apparent victim status.”

Religious satirist Stewart Lee commented that Jyllands-Posten had “tried to deal with a subject they don’t know enough about, and this is one of the teething problems of the cross-over of cultures in the world. I’m sure the level of offence is far greater than would have been intended.”

The director (Directeur de publication) of “France Soir“, a French national newspaper was fired in response for publishing a cartoon titled: “Yes, we have the right to (joke about) characterise God” (Oui, on a le droit de caricaturer Dieu). The “France-Soir” web site is presently offline. The cartoon is partially visible on a nouvelobs.com website.

Today, Libération, another French national newspaper, is publishing two of the “Mohammad Cartoons”. Other newspapers across France are asking for their rights to freedom of the press to be defended.

Charlie Hebdo, a well-known satirical newspaper, will publish articles to support cartoonists, freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

The general reaction in France seems to be that most citizens except religious people (Catholics, Muslims,…) are astounded by the level of anger against the “Mohammad Cartoons”.

On February 9 2006 Queensland Premier Peter Beattie gave The Courier Mail Newspaper his blessings in publishing the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons/depictions of Muhammad stating that he is a firm believer in free speech and ones freedom of expression. On the very same day he got his legal representative to write to the author of this site photoduck.com demanding he censor material relating to him and his Government.

Although many newspapers have not republished the cartoons in order to avoid backlashes, the drawings have appeared on the Internet and are being revealed at a number of Web sites and blogs. On January 30th, Fox News contributor Michelle Malkin placed the drawings on her blog, and encouraged others to do the same.

Billy West, voice of Ren and Stimpy, Futurama, on the rough start that shaped his life

This article mentions the Wikimedia Foundation, one of its projects, or people related to it. Wikinews is a project of the Wikimedia Foundation.

Ren and Stimpy. Bugs Bunny. Philip J. Fry and Professor Hubert Farnsworth on Futurama. Sparx. Bi-Polar Bear. Popeye the Sailor Man. Woody Woodpecker. You may not think you have ever heard Billy West, but chances are on a television program, a movie, a commercial, or as Howard Stern’s voice guru in the 1990’s, you have heard him. West’s talent for creating personalities by twisting his voice has made him one of a handful of voice actors—Hank Azaria and the late Mel Blanc come to mind—who have achieved celebrity for their talent. Indeed, West is one of the few voice actors who can impersonate Blanc in his prime, including characterizations of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and other characters from Warner Bros. cartoons.

What is the fulcrum in Mr. West’s life that led him to realize a talent to shape personalities with his voice, and how did the discovery of that gift shape him? Wikinews reporter David Shankbone found that like many great comedians, West faced more sour early in life than he did sweet. The sour came from a physically and emotionally abusive alcoholic father (“I could tell you the kind of night I was going to have from the sound of the key in the door or the way the car pulled up.”), to his own problems with drug and alcohol use (“There is a point that you can reach in your life where you don’t want to live, but you haven’t made the decision to die.”).

I’m telling you stuff that I never said to anybody…

If sin, suffering and redemption feel like the stages of an endless cycle of American existence, West’s own redemption from his brutalized childhood is what helped shape his gift. He performed little bits to cheer up his cowed mother, ravaged by the fact she could not stop her husband’s abuse of young West. “I was the whipping boy and she would just be reduced to tears a lot of times, and I would come in and say stuff, and I would put out little bits just to pull her out of it.”

But West has also enjoyed the sweet. His career blossomed as his talent for creating entire histories behind fictional characters and creatures simply by exploring nuance in his voice landed him at the top of his craft. You may never again be able to forget that behind the voice of your favorite character, there is often an extraordinary life.

Below is David Shankbone’s interview with renowned voice actor Billy West, who for the first time publicly talks about the horrors he faced in his childhood; his misguided search for answers in anger, drugs and alcohol; and the peace he has achieved as one of America’s most recognizable voice actors.

When Your Ex Boyfriend Has New Girlfriend And You Still Love Him How To Get Him Back

Get More Information Here:

By H.L. Archer

When your ex boyfriend told you he needed some space it almost sent your emotions out of control. Now you find out that he has a new girlfriend and you still love him. What are you to do and how to get him back? Your first thought might be to let her have him and find someone else. But that can be hard to do if you are still in love with him. Then you go from jealousy to rage and you want to go tear into both of them. After a while you settle down a little and realize that if you want your ex back, you have to play it smart.

When your ex boyfriend has a new girlfriend and you still love him, it will take all of the strength and discipline you can muster. You will also have to be a good actress. You might run into them from time to time and you want to rip into her. Instead you have to be nice to her and act as if you are glad that your ex boyfriend found someone so nice. Treat him like you would and old friend. If he calls and asks you what you think of her you have to keep control. Do not say anything rude or derogatory about her. Just say that you are glad they are happy together.

By doing this he will keep in touch with you. If you act jealous or try to put his new girlfriend down he will avoid you. In order to have any chance to get your ex back, you need to maintain communication. Also he might have intentionally run into you with his new girlfriend to make you jealous. He might just be using her to get you back. If you had been cold to her when you met them and criticized her when he called he would know that you still loved him. By knowing this, he is in a good position. If things do not work out with his new girlfriend, he will have you to fall back on.

You might be tempted to play his game too and date some good looking guy. This could backfire for two reasons. Your ex boyfriend that you are still in love with might get the wrong idea. Instead of making him jealous, it might make him feel that you are over him and he will commit to his new girlfriend. The second reason is that the new guy might fall madly in love with you and be very hurt when he finds out you are only using him to try to get your ex back. It will also make you feel rotten to have hurt an innocent person to further your own ends.

When you find yourself in this kind of situation, you have to play it real cool and watch every word and action. Depending on what you do will make the difference in getting back the man you love or losing him to his new girlfriend.

US unemployment rate reaches 9.8%

Friday, October 2, 2009

Companies in the United States are shedding more jobs, pushing the country’s unemployment rate to a 26-year high of 9.8%.

The US Labor Department said on Friday that employers cut 263,000 jobs in September, with companies in the service industries — including banks, restaurants and retailers — hit especially hard. This is the 21st consecutive month of job losses in the country.

The United States has now lost 7.2 million jobs since the recession officially began in December 2007. The new data has sparked fears that unemployment could threaten an economic recovery. Top US officials have warned that any recovery would be slow and uneven, and some have predicted the unemployment rate will top 10% before the situation improves.

“Continued household deleveraging and rising unemployment may weigh more on consumption than forecast, and accelerating corporate and commercial property defaults could slow the improvement in financial conditions,” read a report by the International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook, predicting that unemployment will average 10.1% by next year and not go back down to five percent until 2014.

Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Economy.com, said that “it’s a very fragile and tentative recovery. Policy makers need to do more.”

“The number came in weaker than expected. We saw a lot of artificial involvement by the government to prop up the markets, and now that that is starting to end, the private sector isn’t yet showing signs of life,” said Kevin Caron, a market strategist for Stifel, Nicolaus & Co.

Also on Thursday, the US Commerce Department said factory orders fell for the first time in five months, dropping eight-tenths of a percent in August. Orders for durable goods — items intended to last several years (including everything from appliances to airliners) — fell 2.6%, the largest drop since January of this year.

The US government has been spending billions of dollars — part of a $787 billion stimulus package — to help spark economic growth. There have been some signs the economy is improving.

The Commerce Department said on Thursday that spending on home construction jumped in August for its biggest increase in 16 years. A real estate trade group, the National Association of Realtors, said pending sales of previously owned homes rose more than 12 percent in August, compared to August 2008.

A separate Commerce Department report said that consumer spending, which accounts for more than two-thirds of US economic activity, rose at its fastest pace in nearly eight years, jumping 1.3 percent in August.

Other reports have provided cause for concern. A banking industry trade group said Thursday the number of US consumers making late payments, or failing to make payments, on loans and credit cards is on the rise. A survey by a business group, the Institute for Supply Management, Thursday showed US manufacturing grew in September, but at a slower pace than in August when manufacturing increased for the first time in a year and a half.

Stock markets reacted negatively to the reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 41 points in early trading, reaching a level of 9467. This follows a drop of 203 points on Thursday, its largest loss in a single day since July. The London FTSE index fell 55 points, or 1.1%, to reach 4993 points by 15.00 local time.

Celebrities contribute to Katrina relief

Published:Wednesday, September 7, 2005Updated:Saturday, September 10, 2005 (Travolta, Preston, Moore, Stones, Three Doors Down, Johnson, Smith)

After Hurricane Katrina passed across the United States, various artists and media stars have leapt at a call to action.

John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston flew his private plane to deliver a load of supplies and tetanus vaccine to Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Part of a Scientology project which has been using their non-massage “assists”, in an interview Preston mentioned that “auditing” had also been performed on victims.

Kevin Smith is holding an online auction on his Web site.

Sean Penn actually went to Louisiana. After loading down a small boat with his entourage, it was discovered one of them had neglected to seal a hole in the bottom. Penn was wearing a white vest rather than a life vest while bailing. After the motor wouldn’t start, the crew paddled down a flooded New Orleans street. Bystanders jeered at whether any victims could fit aboard the crowded craft. No report on rescue stunts. Local authorities had previously been criticized for not allowing volunteer boaters in to help.

Morgan Freeman, whose home fared well, is organizing an online auction of celebrity items at charityfolks.com, to benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Curt Schilling opened his home to a family of nine driven out of their New Orleans home. The Schilling family will provide housing for the Fields for a year while their home in New Orleans is rebuilt and repaired.

Some celebrities “graced” disaster zones with their presence in the days following Katrina.

Singer Macy Gray and television personality Phil McGraw visited Houston’s Astrodome.

Celebrities visiting New Orleans include Michael Moore (opposite side of lake), singer Harry Connick, Jr., CNN’s Anderson Cooper, actor Jamie Foxx, singer Faith Hill, actor Matthew McConaughey, singer Lisa Marie Presley, comedian Chris Rock, and The Oprah Winfrey Show contributor Lisa Ling and interior decorator Nate Berkus.
